For the last ten years, I have successfully written grants and managed foundation relations for many of St. Louis’ arts and education organizations including the Saint Louis Art Fair, Shakespeare Festival St. Louis, Lift For Life Gym, Clayton Community Theatre, and Soundstage Productions. Most recently, I served as the Development Manager at Dance St. Louis where I oversaw all aspects of identification, solicitation, and reporting with regard to the organization’s major grant requests. I recently transitioned from working full-time for Dance St. Louis to maintaining the organization as an independent client. Other past and current independent clients include Shakespeare Festival St. Louis, Metro Theater Company, and the all new Tennessee Williams Festival — St. Louis.
Working with Artists
At the outset of my career in development, I started writing grants as a volunteer for Clayton Community Theatre in St. Louis out of sheer necessity. The local theatre needed to diversify its revenue stream and I wanted to help the organization that had given me numerous creative opportunities. In five years, I was able to procure more than $18,000 in project-related and operating funds for the organization. I love working with artists and arts organizations and supporting the vibrant cultural life of the region.
